Drew Barrymore: ‘Google Makes Life Hard For Celebrities’

DREW Barrymore says it’s “tough” being a celebrity — because the internet means people in the public eye have nowhere to hide.

The actress feels it is harder to keep a private life now than it was a decade ago because people can access information about celebs instantly if they want to.

“It is a very tough world,” said Drew. “Technology makes everything so much more immediate. It is just incredible. The speed at which information about you can go across the world is scary. There’s no hiding from it.

“I think people have it harder now than it used to be, definitely. If you Google people, countless pages come up, all kinds of information. It is just crazy.”

Barrymore recently denied claims she’s engaged to her on/off beau Justin Long.

“I am not engaged. That is just a rumor — again. It is ridiculous,” she said.

“Anything goes nowadays and everything is written even if it is not true so it is really hard to weed out the truth. I keep telling the truth about what’s happening with me but that is boring to people.

“They have more fun making stuff up. But I’m not angry — there are worst things to be being said. It’s not a mean lie. I can’t pay attention to any of that stuff there is too much more stuff to worry about..”
